You need to have a thorough understanding of these concepts because they are the foundation of the Java language;
  • System design and architecture. This is the most important part of the software development process. Every developer, not only in Java, needs to understand the big picture and think about future challenges, as well as choose the right architecture and technology stack to create the program;
  • Web technologies. They allow you to create dynamic online content easily and quickly. To understand the concept of communication between multiple computer systems using markup languages, you need to know web technologies. For example, HTML and CSS are used to create static web pages;

What does a Java developer do on a daily basis?

Since Java is used almost everywhere, especially in large enterprises, day-to-day tasks can include:

  • Program architecture. A key function that Java developers provide during the implementation of a project;
  • Development. At this stage, a Java developer writes program code, tests it, and makes changes if necessary;
  • Testing: Includes testing and debugging each feature after completion;
  • Deployment. At this stage, the fully functional code is transferred to the program’s website.

Other responsibilities of a Java developer include software maintenance and optimization, project management, management and collaboration, and vendor management.
